TULIA - Alice Baldwin, 84, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Terry Talent, pastor, and the Rev. Jeff Conway, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Baldwin was born April 1, 1920, in Fort Worth. She grew up in Dallas and attended schools there. She studied ballet during her school years. She attended college at NTAC in Arlington before leaving to take acting classes at the Pasadena Community Play House in Pasadena, Calif. She toured the United States with the USO as a dancer for 11 months, visiting more than 100 Army and Navy bases before returning to Dallas.
She married N.H. "Red" Baldwin on Sept. 10, 1946, in Dallas. They moved to Tulia in 1954 from Dallas after Red Baldwin received a job as a CPA. She was very active in the Presbyterian Church, serving on boards, as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. She was also a member of garden club.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Hooper.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Baldwin of Amarillo; a son, Donald Baldwin of Amarillo; and a granddaughter, Sarah Baldwin of Amarillo.
The family suggests memorials be to First Presbyterian Church of Tulia.
