Larry Mac Macomber, 71, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center.
Mac was born February 5, 1947, he was the only child of H. R. and Rose Macomber.
Mac became a law enforcement officer in 1968, working for many cities and counties in the State of Texas and Colorado over a span of forty-two years. Noted as a “true peacemaker” and an “honest cop’, he retired earning many awards and honors including Instructor Certification Firearms Proficiency and Master Peace Officer by the State of Texas. In 1993 he was awarded the Law Enforcement Commendation Medal by the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Larry Mac is survived by his wife of 51 years, Teressa Macomber; daughters, Launa Estise Omes, Lesa Rose York, Annabelle Claudine Clutter; grandchildren, Larry Milton Dean, James Daved Dean, Dianne Michelle York, Betty Samantha Browder, Dennis Cade Carter and Christopher Cole Clutter; great grandchildren, Macie Aline Browder, Emma Rose Taylor, Kason Bryce Browder Raylan Don Taylor; and aunt, Elnora Raiche.
He was preceded in death by his parents, H. R. and Rosalee Esther Hammond Macomber.
A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date with inurnment at Dumas Memorial Cemetery, Dumas, Texas.
Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9
Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
