Ashley Hodges of Mathiston, Mississippi passed away at NMMC in Tupelo, Mississippi on October 10, 2018. He was born on April 30, 1975 to Cecil David and Margie Hodges in Eupora, MS.
Mr. Hodges loved his family, enjoyed life, was always smiling, and never met a stranger. He had a great love for horse racing and his horse racing family, where he was a member of the Neshoba County Horse Racing Association. Other than racing he was a member of the 16th Section Hunting Club and the Trucking Association. Dirt track racing was also one of his favorite things; and he was a loyal supporter of Ole Miss. He was a member of Mathiston Baptist Church. He was also a founding member of Pheba Racing Stables.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Crump Hodges of Mathiston; his beautiful daughters, Carlyn Jade Hodges, Ashtyn Grace Hodges, and Jacie Drew “Bae Bae” Hodges; his mother Margie Hodges; sister, Jennifer (Tim) Gazaway; brother-in-law Brian (Apryl) Crump; nieces, Ceilie Grimsley, Addie Claire Crump, and Lily Kate Crump; and nephews, Brock Carter, Preston Gazaway, Brian Gazaway, Jackson Crump and Hayden Crump. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, trucking buddies, and his horse racing family.
Preceding Ashley in death is his father, Cecil David Hodges; his grandparents, Helen and Dutch McKee, and Nell and Estelle Hodges; and a nephew, William Kirklan Crump.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Officiating for the service will be Brother Brian Wells and Brother Terry Rhodes. Pallbearers will be Bo McKee, Brock Carter, Tommy “Flash” Casen, Todd Hodges, Chris Bell, Joe Jernigan, Adam Strickland, Kelly Hardin, Jamie Hendrix, Phillip Reed, and Stan Blaylock. Honorary Pallbearers will be brother-in-laws, cousins, uncles, friends, his horse racing family, and trucking buddies. Burial will be at Pheba Cemetery.
