Mary "Pat" S. Coulsting, 67, Norfolk, VA, passed away on October 9, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Kansas City, MO, Mary was the daughter of the late Bernard T. Shine and Beverly Smith Shine. She was retired from Verizon after 30 years of service and was the past president of the Virginia State Crime Clinic. Pat was the widow of Donald J. Coulsting, Sr. and is survived by her beloved son, Donald J. Coulsting, Jr., and his wife Lauren, a brother, Stephen C. Shine and his wife Gretchen (Bobbie), numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Michael B. Shine. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. John R. Monroe officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
