He was the son of Andrew (c-1620-1683) and Bethiah (Gedney) (1629-1672) Mansfield. He married 1st. Hannah Johnson and 2nd. Margaret Jarvis, May 12, 1715 in Lynn, Essex Co., Mass.
In his will he gave "his wife Margaret his Negro woman, Phyllis." And when his will was made his son Samuel and daughter Bethiah Poole were both deceased, and Bethhiah's daughter was under age. His son Daniel and Andrew were to have the residue of his estate and be the executors.
