Charles William Layne

Charles William Layne, 13, of 4428 Travis, a lifelong heart patient, died of a heart attack Sunday near his home while running to a fire.
A 7th grade student, he was a member of the Spence Junior High School Band, a member of Boy Scout Troop 26 and the Memorial Methodist Church of Dallas.
Survivors, all of Dallas, are his mother, Mrs. Frances E. Layne; father, P. S. Layne; brother, Pat Layne; sister, Linda Lou Layne and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William P. Layne and Charles T. Bowling.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Weiland-Merritt Funeral Chapel, 2909 Live Oak, with the Rev. Harold Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Mike Carter, John Brown, John Olsson, James West, James Tacker and Sherwood Blount.
