Burial
Memorial for Shreveporter actually buried at Fort Scott National Cemetery in Kansas. Marker notes he was reburied with his shipmates, at his family's request, on May 10, 1948. Their ship, LST 448, was sunk off Vella Lavella. This marker has birth and name information not available on the Fort Scott marker.Endnotes
