Beverly was born June 28, 1935 to S. Graham and Helen Louise (Stiles) Smith in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She passed away May 22, 2018 at home. Beverly graduated from Okmulgee High School and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma. Beverly was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority while at OU. Beverly married Mack Wendell Burnett on October 18, 1958 in her parents’ backyard in Okmulgee. They were married until his death in 2003. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Langley. As a young woman, Beverly and her husband raised and raced quarter horses. They were avid lovers of Grand Lake. After her husband’s retirement, they moved to Grand Lake full time. She later started Grand Again, which she owned and operated until her retirement in 2013. Beverly loved spending time on or around the lake. She was a dedicated wife, mother and Mammy. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandkids. Beverly also enjoyed family traditions and holidays, especially attending Duck Creek Fireworks each year.
Beverly is survived by her children Kevin Burnett and his wife, Gretchen, of Edmond, Leslie Burnett of Pryor, and Bryan Burnett and his wife, Katherine of Broken Arrow. Beverly has five grandchildren. Brooke Burnett of Dallas, Texas; Alex Burnett and wife, Lexy, of Edmond; Adam Burnett of Norman; Andrew Burnett of Broken Arrow; and Bridgette Burnett of Broken Arrow. Beverly has a sister, Marion Borchardt and husband, Victor, of Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Pryor Special Olympics.
