Freeman W. "Hawk" Smith, 84, of Kingsland passed away April 14, 2013. He was born to William Clyde and Ruby Velma (Weed) Smith on December 7, 1928 in Brownfield, Texas. Hawk worked as a telephone lineman last for GTE. He attended the Church of Christ, and enjoyed coin collecting. He is survived by sisters, Natha Ezil of Longview, Texas and Beulah "Jo" Klunkert of Bastrop, Texas, nephews, Dane Johnson of Austin, Texas, Len Johnson, Hutto, Texas and Rogers Johnson of Bastrop, Texas, niece, Ruby Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah, numerous great nieces and nephews also survive. Hawk was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Smith and sister, Wanna Rogers. Private family services will be held at a later date in Austin, Texas.
