Evelyn Martin Brooks, 96, passed away on April 23, 2021.
Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Monday, May 3, at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington, 76012.
Evelyn was born in Trenton, New Jersey on August 22, 1924 to Claude and Emma Martin. She married the love of her life, James Albert Brooks, Sr., on October 2, 1943 at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Trenton, New Jersey. She and James moved their family to Texas in 1945.
After moving to Texas, Evelyn worked at LTV as a spot welder and retired after many years of dedicated service. She then went to Real Estate School and pursued a career as a realtor. She retired from her second career after 10 years.
Evelyn was a longtime member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church where she participated in the choir and also taught Sunday School. She could always be found volunteering, helping people, and singing. Evelyn also enjoyed cooking meals and baking desserts for her family and friends.
Evelyn was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Brooks, Sr.; parents, Claude and Emma Martin; and brothers, Alan Martin and Bill Collier.
