MINEOLA-Funeral services for James Griffin "Preacher" Fowler, 92, Shertz, formerly of Mineola, were held Thursday at Beaty Funeral Home Chapel, Mineola, with James Fowler officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mineola.
Mr. Fowler died Feb. 22, 2010, in Shertz.
He was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Maude. He was a longtime member of Mineola Masonic Lodge #502, served in the Navy during WWII and was retired from the oil field business.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; two brothers and his wife, Kathleen Bruner Fowler.
Survivors include a son, James D. Fowler; one daughter, Judy K. Fowler; a brother, Wiley Fowler and two sisters, Mildred Voelkel and Mary Jo Bourg.
