Hamlin - L.B. Bruner, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008, in Hamlin. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2008, at the First Baptist Church with Revs. Keith Prather, Donny Harbers, and Gary Creason officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Adams Funeral Home.
Born December 27, 1922, in the Flat Top Community, L.B. was the son of the late Roy and Viva (Boyd) Bruner. He graduated from Hamlin High School in 1942. L.B. married Martha Loveta Branscum July 20, 1946, in Hamlin. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII. L.B. worked as a farmer until his retirement in 1968. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon since 1952.
L.B. and his friend, Kenneth Hertel, enjoyed riding around town on their motor vehicles and going to Dairy Queen for coffee.
Survivors include his wife, Loveta Bruner of Hamlin; one son and daughter-in-law, Dan Allen and Cynthia Bruner of Carthage; two daughters, Sharon Burleson and husband, Jack, of Kerens and Michelle Bruner of Abilene; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one aunt, Edith Kiester of Oklahoma City.
