Steven Earl Risch

Steven E. Risch of West Sacramento, CA peacefully passed away in his home on April 18, 2013. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Elizabeth Risch; children Neil Risch (Teresa), Amy Risch-Reed (Brandon) and stepson Daniel Ackison (Krissi); father Gary S. Risch (Betty); sister Danielle Duvall (Chip); grandchildren Myranda, Emily, Kason and Charlie; mother of his children Joan M. Risch and many other family members, friends and loved ones. Steve is preceded in death by his mother Gracie Marie Risch, who we believe was waiting at Heaven's Gates for her little boy's arrival. Steve was born on December 3, 1946 and he spent his early childhood years in Ojai, CA and then moved to Oroville, CA where he graduated from Las Plumas High School in 1965. He married Joan (Partington) Risch on a Friday and was drafted to the Vietnam War as an Air Force aircraft mechanic on the following Monday. He was married to Joanie for 33 years, having two children and operating Steve and Joanie's Day Care for over 15 years. He married Elizabeth (Coleman) Risch on June 26, 2001 after falling in love like high school sweethearts. Steve worked at Munchies Candy Store in Old Sacramento, CA for over 25 years and purchased the store from his father in 2001. He loved to sit on the sidewalk and visit with all of the tourists insisting they go into his store for a free sample. Steve was known for his humor, loud voice and the ability to befriend anybody that he met. We know he is in Heaven now hugging on his mama, swimming in the ocean waves and watching over all of his loved ones. A Celebration of Life service will be held on May 18, 2013. Details are pending.
