Bobbie Jean Ayers Boone, age 79, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, March 10, 2016, at her home. She was born to Sherman Cecil and Erma Edna Pickett Ayers in Horatio, Arkansas, on March 8, 1937. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, had worked as a lab and x-ray technician and nurse for Dr. Brown for 17 years, and was a retired restaurant owner, as well as a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and caring for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved animals and spent a lot of time rescuing abandoned animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Norman Wayne Everitt, and brother-in-law, Loy Fant.
She is survived by her husband of over 41 years, a son, four daughters and a son-in-law, six grandsons and their spouses, one granddaughter and her husband, thirteen great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, two sisters and a brother-in-law and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Bobbie Boone will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 14th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Josh Herwick officiating. Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be Sunday, March 13th from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Chandler Funeral Home.
