Graveside service for Mrs. Mina Elizabeth Sample, 95, of Nacogdoches, Texas, will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at Martinsville Cemetery with Bro. Bennett Hanna officiating. Mrs. Sample passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009, in Nacogdoches. Mina was born October 18, 1913, in Martinsville, Texas, the daughter of the late Alden and Lois Covington Hanna. Mina graduated from Nacogdoches High School. She attended and graduated SFA Teachers College. She wed J.W. Pete Sample September 18, 1938, and he preceded her in death. She was a volunteer at the Nacogdoches Treatment Center, helping those in need. Her hobbies included crochet, quilting and sewing. Mina is survived by a son, Dan Sample and his wife, Chris, of Rock Springs, Wyoming; a brother, Bennett Alden Hanna of Plano; two sisters-in-law, Francis Hanna and Elna Hanna, both of Nacogdoches; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Mina is preceded in death by her parents, Alden and Lois Hanna; husband, J.W. "Pete" Sample, son George Alden; three brothers; and one sister.
