Euless, Texas - LUCILE KEETER STONEKING, 95, passed away Monday, April 2, 2007.
Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are under direction of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home of Colleyville, Texas.
Lucile was born April 30, 1911, in the Cotton County region of Oklahoma, to Lonnie and Daisy Keeter. Following the death of her mother, her father, grandparents and stepmother, Eula, raised her. A strong woman of her generation, Lucile moved to California following the Depression, where she met her husband and married in 1944.
She made many friends during her years of traveling and living abroad with her husband. She was a loving and giving person who raised not only three stepchildren, but was also guardian for two immigrant daughters --- she was an angel.
A member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, word puzzles and watching sports.
Survivors include stepsons, Gerald Stoneking Jr. and his wife Susie of California, and Nick Stoneking; sponsored daughters, Gan Stoneking, and Prissy Swindell and her husband Mitchell; ten grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Gerald Stoneking Sr., and stepdaughter, Gaye Stoneking.
