Loyce M. Loper, 84, of Beaumont passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Matagorda County, TX, she had lived in the Golden Triangle area most of her life where she met and married her "Honey". She lived her life to serve others and in so doing served in many capacities including being a Life Member of The Order of Eastern Star Beaumont Chapter #71, and Wisteria Chpater #823, Past Worthy Matron of Beaumont Chapter #71, Beaumont Grand Marshall for The State of Texas and Deputy Grand Matron for The State of Texas, Past President of the Women's Auxillary of Cashan Grotto, Volunteer Teacher's Aide of the South Park School District. She was very active in numerous charitable organizations. She was also a longtime active member of both Roberts Avenue United Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Bennie E. Loper. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Herbert C. Loper, Sr.; sons, Herbert C. Loper, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Houston, TX, John Wayne Loper and his wife Thelma of Sugarland, TX; sister, Rosie Lea Zimmer of IL; and grandchildren David and his wife Kathleen, Steven, Dana and Kevin Loper and 2 great grandchildren.
