Rev. Adren J. Woodard

Reverend Adren J. Woodard, 91, of Breckenridge and formerly of Eastland, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 in Odessa. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland with Rev. Joseph Gastineau officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, 6~8:00 P.M.
Rev. Woodard was born on May 7, 1920 in Woodson, TX to Charlie Clinton & Nellie Elizabeth (Hudson) Woodard. He married Betty Jo Cline and together they had six daughters. He was an ordained Pentecostal minister of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ Apostolic World Christian Fellowship. He pastored in Eastland for several years before retiring and becoming a Security Officer. He held a certificate from the Defensive Tactics Institute. He loved his guns and was proud of his concealed handgun license. He loved his Bible, spending time with his family and enjoyed traveling, especially by air.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo; parents, sister, Shirley Ann Sampley; sister & brother-in-law, Willard & Erma Lee Liles; sister-in-law, Shirley Mae Woodard; brother, JC Woodard; 2 great-granddaughters, Ashley Ne'cole Williams and Stacy LeeAnn Soto; and grandson-in-law, Albert Leland (Burt) Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Annette M. Woodard; 6 daughters, La'Nell Ruth Craft and husband Keith of Odessa, Annie Bell Pearson of Ballinger, Barbara Sue Gastineau & husband Joe of Omaha, Nebraska, Janis Lee Jobe and husband Tommy of Odessa, Brenda Joyce Michael and husband Gene of Booneville, Mississippi and Elizabeth Rosenbaum and husband Alan of Hope, Arkansas; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Janis Tilley of Ft. Worth, Charlene Cravey of Eustace, Barbara Stewart of Benbrook and Nancy Crumpton and husband Charles of Benbrook; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
