Roy was born on April 22, 1935 in Jacksboro, TX to parents John and Ida Sampley and entered into eternal rest on October 10, 2012. Roy enjoyed taking walks and bicycling. He was Baptist by faith and will be gravely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley Sampley and his grandson Jonathan Richardson.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Sampley of Athens, children; Linda Sampley of Tyler, Melody Sampley of Log Cabin, Kimberley Sampley of Eustace, Roy Sampley of Palestine, Vickie Anderson and husband Ricky of Rice, Karyle Richardson of Athens, Rocky Richardson and wife Rhonda of CA, eight grandchildren; Ryan DeLana, Sean, Marc, Josh, Kegan, Jake and Anthony, six great-grandchildren, four brothers; John Sampley and wife Wanda of Lamesa, Marvin Sampley and wife Lois of Lamesa, E.M. Sampley and wife Earline of Memphis, Edward Sampley and wife P.J. of Lubbock, many other loving family members and a host of friends.
