Deceased Name: J. C. Woodard
J. C. Woodard, 69, of Big Spring, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at his residence. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Johnny Cockerham officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Memorial Park.
He was born April 9, 1941, in Lamesa to Maudie and Charles C. Woodard. He grew up in Lamesa and then moved to Big Spring. He worked as a floor hand for drilling companies.
He is survived by three daughters, Debrah Buchanan, Brenda McGuire and her husband Kenny of Big Spring and Lagene Garza and her husband Steven of Lubbock; four sons, Willie Woodard and his wife Deeanna, Robert Woodard and his wife Yong, Shane Anderson and Shawn Anderson, all of Big Spring; three sisters, Nancy Crumpton and her husband Charles, Barbara Stewart and Charlene Cravy, all of Fort Worth; one brother, Sonny Woodard of Eastland; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Sampley.
