Kenneth J. Goppert, 81, died Tuesday in St. Luke Health Services. Mr. Goppert was born in Utica, and had lived in Oswego for most of his life. He was the husband of the late Florence (Pierce) Goppert, who died in 1994. Prior to his retirement, he was employed, for 30 years, with SUNY-Oswego. He later worked at numerous jobs, including at Wrights Landing, and for the Oswego City School District. Mr. Goppert was a veteran of the US Army, and later served in the National Guard. He is survived by 3 daughters, Carol (Doug) Barney of Oswego, Brenda (Gary) Syrell of Scriba, and Cynthia (Pete) Southgate of Scriba; 2 sons, Kenneth Woods of Virginia, and Edward Dunsmoor of Arizona; a sister, Frances Woods of Oswego; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by 2 sons, Lawrence Dunsmoor, and Gary Dunsmoor. Funeral services will be private. Spring burial will be in Rural Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
