John Clary Tiddy

John Clary Tiddy, age 72, of Charlotte, died Saturday, January 31, 1998, at his residence from complications of diabetes.
A native of Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Tiddy was born January 18, 1926, a son of the late John A. and Lucile Clary Tiddy. He attended Charlotte City Schools and graduated from Central High School in 1944.
Mr. Tiddy was a veteran of WWII in which he served in the Army Air Corps and afterwards attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He retired in 1986 as an account executive from Rexham Corporation. He was a charter member of Carmel Presbyterian Church and a member of Carmel Country Club.
He enjoyed the game of golf and made many lasting friendships.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 1998, at Carmel Presbyterian Church, 2048 Carmel Road, with the Reverend C. Stevens Cathcart and the Reverend David C. Etheridge officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Prior to the service a private inurnment will be in the church columbarium.
Mr. Tiddy is survived by his wife, Deanie Berryhill; his sons, Mike and his wife, Jo, of Charlotte and their children, Rebecca and MacGregor; Wayne and his wife, Leslie, of Edina, MN, and their children, John, William and Caroline; Daryl and his wife, Karen, of Charlotte, and their daughters, Lauren and Jessica; and Brian and his wife, Julie, of Charlotte and their daughter, Elizabeth; his brother Dick of Orlando, Florida.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell.
