Marion (Clary) Boggs, 86, formerly of Spartanburg, passed away Friday, September 29, 2006, in Plano, Texas.
Born December 4, 1919, in Spartanburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Sims Clary and Nannie (Pitts) Clary and the widow of Linn L. Boggs.
Marion never met a stranger and had many friends, both young and old. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bonita Springs, FL, where she was a member of the Fellowship Class, the Young at Heart Club, and was known as an "Encourager." For many years, Marion was a volunteer at her church and a Pink Lady Volunteer at Naples Community Hospital and New North Collier Hospital of Naples, FL. Her warm, friendly and contagious smile was enjoyed by all who knew her. She loved her home, her plants, reading and sewing.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Boyd of Plano, TX; a son, Johnny Eledge of Key Largo, FL; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Eveleth Gobble, Mary Lou Adams, and Martha Sitton; and a brother, Bill Clary.
Visitation was 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 3, 2006, and 10:00-10:45 AM on Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services followed at 11:00 AM at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Kevin Bradley. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials could be made to the First Baptist Church of Bonita Springs, 28440 Mango Drive, Bonita Springs, FL 34134.
