Texas Ranger, Confederate States Army Officer, Attorney. He served under Lieut. Colonel Griffin Bayne who organized a company of Texas Rangers in Milan on March 1, 1836 during the Texas Revolution until June 1, 1836. He was the commanding officer of Confederate States Army Company D, 10th Texas Infantry. He was an attorney by training.

He died at Alum Springs [Note: FindAGrave does not have Alum Springs listed as an option under Rockbridge County, Virginia] located in Rockbridge County, Virginia in a narrow valley about 17 miles from Lexington and 20 miles from Warm Springs. The mineral water of the springs was considered to be beneficial and many visitors came for health reasons.Burial
