Michael Wayne "Petey" McMahan

GALVESTON - Michael Wayne "Petey" McMahan, 41, passed away, Sunday, August 27, 2000, at his residence in Galveston. A chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2000, in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home, Galveston, with the Rev. Robert Dowdy, pastor of The Church of the Living God, officiating. Burial will follow services Wednesday at Lakeview Cemetery, also here in Galveston. A gathering for visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2000, also in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home. Mr. McMahan's family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening after 5:00 p.m.
Although born August 9,1959, in Texas City, Texas, Petey has been a lifelong resident of Galveston Island. When not working as an electrician's apprentice, Petey enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends. He never liked to feel sad, so he always made sure that where he was there was also good times and good friends. Petey's witty sense of humor shown through his personality as he always made time to laugh and joke with those around. He was a free-spirited person who loved life and lived it as he believed.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle McMahan, his mother, Sharon McMahan and also one of his brothers, Howard "Butch" McMahan Jr.,
Petey leaves behind with love and memories, his wife, Korinna McMahan of Galveston, his children, Amy McMahan and Michael McMahan Jr., both of Galveston, his father, Howard McMahan, two sisters, Paula Borsellino and husband, Chuck of La Porte, Texas, and Betsy McMahan and Romaldo of Galveston, and two brothers, Patrick McMahan and Scott McMahan both of Galveston. Also saddened by this loss are Petey's extended family, motherin- law, Lorraine Grossman and husband, Jack, of Galveston; his father-in-law, George Lynch; two brothers-in-law, Delmo Lynch and wife, Carrie and Sean Lynch and fiancee, Spring; numerous nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and many, many good friends.
Petey's memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and those who loved him. Ifs those memories and those good times had that will be talked about and shared
always.
Pallbearers will be Petey's family members and friends.
