Alfred Earl Franks Jr. (57) Austin, Arkansas formerly of Grand Forks, ND passed away at home on March 28th, 2011.
Alfred was born on April 29, 1953 in Florida, the son of Alfred Franks Sr. and Gloria Franks-Long . He grew up in an Air Force family living in the States and abroad. Al enlisted in the US Air Force serving four years and later settling in Grand Forks, ND. He worked for Red River Valley Community Action Agency for 27 years. Starting as a Weatherization Laborer, he rose quickly through the ranks becoming a Weatherization Crew Foreman, an Estimator/Inspector, and in 1992 Al assumed the role of Weatherization Manager until his retirement in 2007. Al was united in marriage to Judith Ann Schneeweis-Franks on September 26th, 1992. In his spare time he enjoyed Bass fishing, camping, gardening, and most recently restoring classic cars. Al also enjoyed spending time with his many loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred Franks Sr., Gloria (Roy) Long and his loyal dog Billie.
Funeral Services will held at Cabot Funeral Home in Cabot Arkansas on Saturday April 2nd at 10 am.
He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the many others that he touched with his kindness and generosity.
