Amasa's parents were John K. Clark who married Nancy Bell on Feb. 20, 1820.

Source: "History of Dodge County Wisconsin" (Chicago: Western Historical Co.,1880). p. 645 Amasa came to Dodge County in 1845 and located on a prairie farm in Burnett town; settled on his present farm of sixty acres in the spring of 1847; he has cleared most of his land of a growth of maple and basswood timber.

BML land grant certificate 9264 issued at Green Bay, Wisconsin in which Amasa Clark was granted 40 acres of government land in Williams town (Sec. 23) in August of 1849.
