Viewing will be held Wednesday, June 25th from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., with funeral services on Thursday, June 26th at 1:00pm. Pastor Norman Newman will officiate the services
Neva Johnson, 77, of Bakersfield who passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the residence of Glenwood Gardens. Neva was born on July 21, 1936 to William and Alta "Pauline" Marney in Bakersfield, California. Neva lived in Bakersfield most of her life other than living in Wasco, California. Neva loved to work in her yard ad garden. She can make any flower bloom. Neva loved to talk on the phone to her kids and grandchildren that was a morning ritual. Those phone calls will be truly missed.
Neva Johnson is survived by daughter, Toni Gilbert and husband Bobby of Santa Ana, CA.; daughter, Terry Newman and husband Pat; son, Lee Johnson and wife Joan and son Wayne Johnson and wife Teresa all of Bakersfield, CA.; sister and best friend, Patsy Stotler; one brother Ronald Marney and wife Joyce of Bakersfield, CA.; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Neva has many nieces and nephews who all loved her and called her affectionately "Aunt Bobbie". She is preceded in death by her parents and brother "Billy Bob" Marney.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Optimal Hospice.
