James Leroy Brown

James L. Brown was born on July 12, 1944 in Louisville, NE to Ralph Sr. and Stella (Armburst) Brown. He died on April 26, 2014 in Norman, OK at the age of 69. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at First Baptist East with Pastor Doug Passmore, officiating.

James was raised and attended school in Nebraska. He enlisted in the US Army in 1965 and worked for 11 years as a missile electronics technician with both Lance and Pershing Missile systems. After his Honorable Discharge at the rank of CW 2, James was employed at Goodyear as a maintenance technician until his retirement in 2003. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed sports and woodwork. James was active in church where he taught Sunday School, giving him the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of many of his class members. He loved his family and spent many happy hours with his grand and great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Brown; and 2 sisters, Willa Rice and Eunice Knutson.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Beverly; son, David Brown and Tamra of Indiahoma; daughter, Tina Brown of Lawton; grandsons, Wesley Brown of Lawton, Austin Brown of Natchitoches, LA, and Devon Brown of Lawton; granddaughters, Shelby Brown and Audrey Brown, both of Lawton; 4 brothers, Butch Brown and wife Julie of Bullhead City, AZ, Ralph Brown, Jr. of Blair, NE, Larry Brown and wife Becky of Rochelle, IL, and Daryl Brown of Nevada; a sister, Barbara Gochenour and husband Dick of Lincoln, NE; several nieces and nephews, and his extended family, Sara, Zack and Addi.
