Janet L. Maxwell, 55, of Aztec, from this life on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016. She was born June 9, 1961, in Durango, Colo., to Charles and Martha Buchanan. Janet grew up in Aztec, with her brother Guy and sister Billie where she attended Aztec High School, "Class of 1979." She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was full of adventure and loved pretty girly things that sparkled pink. She loved her family, friends and especially her grandchildren, her fur babies, and NASCAR "go 22." Janet was a God fearing woman with Jesus in her heart. Janet was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Willerford; parents, Charles and Martha Buchanan and grandson, Quinlynn Maxwell. She is survived by husband, James E. Maxwell Sr.; son, James Maxwell Jr.; daughters, Savanna Thompson, Rebecca Willerford; brother, Guy Buchanan; sister, Billie Plant and eight beautiful and loving grandchildren. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Church of Christ, 201 Ruins Road in Aztec officiated by Johnathan Dobbs. She will be laid to rest at 11 a.m. at Aztec Cemetery, 700 Chamisa Ave. in Aztec. A reception will follow after burial at the Church of Christ in Aztec.
