Virginia Louise Frazier

Virginia Louise Frazier Spencer, 80, of Bloomfield, passed peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. She was born Jan. 28, 1933, in Harlingen, Texas, to Alvin Frazier and Myrtle Gray.
She was raised by her mother and step-father, Jack Gray, in Carlsbad. Later she married her first love, Charles Edward Spencer, and had five children.
Virginia was an active member in County Home Extension for 50+ years; member of the Red Hat Society, member of the Farmington Elks Does and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomfield. She loved to read, dance, travel, paint, sew, cook, listen to music and tend her roses.
Virginia is survived by daughters, Tavie Glassmire of King George, Va., Teresa Spencer and husband Joe Boyle of Glendale, Ariz. and Sarah Lynch and husband Keith of Lancaster. Calif.; son, Charles Spencer and wife Sandi of Aztec; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Margie Gail Spencer; sister, Georgia Lee Kell; husband of 49 years, Charles Spencer; and son-in-law, Marc Glassmire.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, Jan. 15, at St. Mary's.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 307 N. Church St. in Bloomfield.
A private interment will follow.
