JOE HUFFMAN
ARTESIA--A memorial service for Joe Huffman, 72, of West Richardson in Artesia will be held Wednesday at Terpening & Son Chapel with the Rev. Randy Reeves and the Rev. James Parker officiating.
Mr. Huffman died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Cremation will follow under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. Visitation will begin at Terpening & Son Mortuary at 10 a.m. today.
Joe Huffman was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Dayton, N.M., to Joe Floyd and Willie (Adam) Huffman. He served in World War II. He married Eunice Poston on Nov. 7, 1975 in Anson, Texas. The couple moved to Artesia, where Mr. Huffman worked as a driller for WEK Drilling Co. and was a member of Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Huffman, of the home; two sons, Jerry McGuairt of Ft. Stockton, Texas, and Tim James and wife Susan of Artesia; two daughters, Pat Eaker and husband Clint of Artesia and Wynona Cross of Albuquerque; sister, Barbara Horn of Gillespie, Ill.; and 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his first wife, Grace Huffman and a sister, Rose Katherine Whygles.
The pallbearers will be grandchildren.
