Shirley Ann Nolte

Shirley A. Artrip, 78, of Logansport, formerly of Galveston, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport. She was born April 26, 1935, to Dempster and Ruby (Hughes) Nolte. On Nov. 24, 1954, in Logansport, she married Larry E. Artrip and he preceded her in death in 2004.
Shirley worked for the Town of Galveston for 19 years as water clerk. She graduated from Logansport High School in 1954. Shirley enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, shopping, bowling and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her three sons and daughter, Larry "Gene" Artrip Jr., Philippines, Christopher Artrip, Naples, Fla., Brian Artrip, Lebanon, Lynne and husband Keith Barnes, Delphi; brother, Phillip (Peg) Nolte, Clymers; grandchildren, Danna (Steve) Arnold, Amy (Buster) Hinkle, Amber Artrip, Ryan Artrip, Cassie Artrip, Daniel Artrip, Anna Artrip and twins, Joshua and Andrew Artrip; five great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild and another great-grandchild on the way. Nieces and nephews also survive her.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; two sisters, Linda Nolte #34820619 and Beverly Doran; and one niece.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel in Logansport, with the Rev. Bill Collins officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Murray-Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.
