Sarah Evelina Webb

Sarah Webb was born in Murray County, Tennessee, and moved to Shelby County, Texas, in 1840, as a young girl. She married William Amasa "Mace" Samford on November 5, 1848, in Shelby County, Texas. Her husband preceded her in death, on January 12, 1909.

Mrs. Samford had been living with her son, Billie Samford, and passed away there on Monday afternoon. Survivors included 6 sons: Crit, Buck, Billie, Kaufman, and Jim Samford of Shelby County, and Lee Samford of Longview; 2 daughters: Mrs. Sallie January of Center and Mrs. Mary Holt of Nacogdoches Co.; 6 half-brothers: Eli, Alf, Joe, Larry, Jim, and Mack Webb of Center; 3 half-sisters: Mrs. A. E. Smith of Orange, Mrs. Mary Panger of Cookville, Mrs. Jennie McDonald of Stockman; and 1 sister: Mrs. S. E. Butts of Ironosa--Mrs. Butts was 91 yrs old.
