He claims exemption from draft because of dependent wife and children. Verne is described as tall and slender with brown hair and brown eyes. He is not bald and he is not disabled in any way.
Gertrude Belle Ivory Bullock remembers Verne showing up in Hadley every spring after he became a traveling salesman.
Melvin Ivory, Verne's first cousin, says that Verne was a traveling salesman in the western staes for Boericke and Tafel, Inc. of Chicago and Philadelphia, homeopathic pharmacists.
There was a Verne G. Ivory living in the Patton State Hospital for the Insane, San Bernardino County, California, in 1940. Age 53 divorced.
