Obituary for Sarah Margaret Herring
Sarah Margaret Herring, 80 of El Dorado, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Oak Ridge Nursing Home under the care of Life Touch Hospice.
Born March 12, 1929 she was the daughter of J. C. and Maude Augusta Thomas. Mrs. Herring graduated from El Dorado High School in 1946. During her lifetime she was active in Yocum Elementary School PTA and was a Girl Scout Leader. She was associated with Elliotts, Inc. for twenty-four years, retiring as manager in 1997. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Womens Circle No. 7 and had also served on the churchs Administrative Board.
Preceding her in death along with her parents were five brothers.
Survivors include her husband of sixty years, R. N. Bill Herring of El Dorado, two daughters, Sandra Herring Huffman of Vicksburg, MS and Vicky Herring of El Dorado and one son, Don Alan Herring of Little Rock, AR. Also surviving are two grandsons, Robert Terry Huffman, II of Oxford, MS and Gregory Todd Huffman of San Francisco, CA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Saturday, March 28, 2009 in the chapel of First United Methodist Church with Rev. Pam Brule officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 P. M. to 6:00 P. M. Friday evening at Bailey Funeral Home.
