THELMA PARRISH STEPHENS, 26 Jun 1916 – 24 Jan 2002
WADLEY, AL -- Services for Thelma Parrish Stephens, 85, of Wadley were 11 a.m. Saturday, 26 Jan 2002 at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev Richard Richie officiating. Burial followed at Mount Olive Cemetery (Chambers County, AL, 2.4 miles south of Abanda and 12.2 miles northwest of LaFayette).
Mrs. Stephens died Thursday, 24 Jan 2002 at Randolph Medical Center in Roanoke, AL.
A lifelong resident of this area, Mrs. Stephens was born in Clay County, AL on 26 Jun1916, daughter of L. B. and Florence Hanson Parrish. She was a homemaker and a member of Abanda Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Stephens.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Wheeler of Wadley, AL; a son, Ronald Stephens of Wadley, AL; one sister Margaret Gradante of Dothan, AL; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 1599 Clifton Road, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30329.
Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home in Roanoke, AL.
