Mrs. Jeanette Whipple of Lakeland died of intestinal obstruction Friday (Sept. 23, 2005) at Lakeland Hills Center. She was 81.
Born Sept. 13, 1924, in Chicago, Mrs. Whipple moved to Lakeland from Hanover, Pa., in 1987. She worked as a credit manager for Spigel Mail Order Co. She attended Medulla Baptist Church, where she joined the Pioneer Fellowship.
Mrs. Whipple was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Whipple Jr. She is survived by her brother, Fred Slagter, Oak Brook, Ill.; sisters, Reina Patky, Palestine, Ill., Jacqueline Sankey, Modesto, Calif.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday (September 27, 2005) at Gentry-Morrison Dukes Steen Beacon Hill Chapel. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823, or Medulla Baptist Church, 3930 Old Highway 37, Lakeland, FL 33813.
