Darrell Owen Zollars

Darrel Zollars of Porum, Oklahoma passed from this life peacefully at his home on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the age of 83. He was born on December 11, 1932 in Longton, Kansas to Justeen T Zollars and Nadine (Nay) Zollars. As a child, Darrel moved with his family to Borger, Texas where he attended school. He was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at a young age. As a young man, he worked for several ranches in the area. Darrel moved to Oklahoma in 1956 where he was a self-employed truck driver for 40+ years.
Darrel will always be remembered as a cowboy. He loved to rope steers and ride his horses. He raised cattle on his small ranch until 2006.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Justeen and Nadine Zollars; and his son-in-law, Charles Harkins.
Darrel is survived by his children, Reba Zollars, Wes Zollars and wife Merry, Donna Harkins, Katy Goodman and husband Wayne, Morgan Zollars and wife Tina; his sister, Gail Zollars; his two brothers, Don Zollars and Leonard Zollars; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends who will miss him.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel.
A graveside service honoring Darrel’s life will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Elm Grove Cemetery with Brother James R. Dunlap officiating. Pallbearers will be John Zollars, Brandon Harkins, Blake Ross, Cody Ross, J.D. Harkins, and William Harkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Warren, Shawn Harkins, and Louis Wagner.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, OK 74403.
