Notes: Hoffman-Harry H. Hoffman, former advertising manager of the Plain Dealer, who started his career on the old Leader, a predecessor of the Cleveland News will be buried in Markalee Cemetery, Hudson, O., after services in Worcester, Mass., at a time to be announced later. Mr. Hoffman, 79, died yesterday in Evans Memorial Hospital, Worcester. He was assistant to the publisher of the Worcester Telegram and Evening Gazette. Mr. Hoffman at one ? owned ? Lorain Times-Herald and later was advertising manager of the Toledo Blade, the Columbus Dispatch and the Cincinnati Enquirer. Later he returned to Cleveland to be advertising manager of the Press. The Scripps-Howard chain shortly after this transferred him to New York as foreign advertising manager. He remained there 14 years, later going to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Returning here, he became business manager of the old Cleveland Times and when that liquidated, he went to Worcester. He was one of the original members of the American Publishers Association. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Hartzell Hoffman, whom he married here 56 years ago; a son, Harold O., assistant treasurer of the White Motor Car Co.; two daughters, Mrs. Wayland W. Brown of Northampton, Mass., and Mrs. Donald W. Ellinwood of Cleveland and two grandchildren.
