Rev. Clarence A. Brauer

A memorial service will be held Dec. 30 for the Rev. Clarence A. Brauer of Eugene, who died Dec. 24 of age-related causes. He was 86.
He was born Oct. 14, 1919, in Sydney, Neb., to Carl and Hanna Brandt Brauer. He married Dorothea Diers on June 22, 1951, in Titonka, Iowa.
A resident of Eugene since 1993, Brauer served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a radioman on a C47 with the Flying Tigers.
He held a bachelor's degree from Wartburg College in 1948 and then entered the Wartburg Theological Seminary where he graduated in 1951. He was ordained into the ministry in 1951 as a Lutheran pastor. He led parishes in Grand Junction, Colo., Corwith, Iowa, Pomeroy, Iowa, West Salem, Wis., and Waupun, Wis. He served as visitation pastor at Good Samaritan Care Center in Eugene.
He was a past member of the Rotary Club of West Salem, Wis., and was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Eugene.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marla Schultz of Harbard, Ill.; three sons, Mark of Eugene, Steven of Coronado, Calif., and Timothy of Saratoga, Calif.; two brothers, Kenneth of Estis, Neb., and Harold of Westminster, Colo.; and eight grandchildren.
