Velma Jewel Franks , 83 of Ozark, passed Thursday, May 5, 2005, at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 9, at post Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Don' Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Franks will be placed in the church hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark,
Sunday, May 8, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Mrs. Franks was born March 14, 1922, in Dale County to the late Lynn Alexander and Lizzie Snell Free. She was a wonderful homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who cared for and loved her family deeply.
Mrs. Franks was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin P. Franks; one daughter, Glenda Joyce Whitt; three sisters, Lena Whitman, Lola Andrews and Clyde Tharpe; four brothers, Louie Free, Louis Free, Lloyd Free and Holman Free.
