HODGES, MR. NORMAN LEVERN, age 80, of Cahaba Heights, passed away on Tuesday, the 18th of March 2008. Mr. Hodges was born on August 19, 1927 in Illinois and was a veteran of the Korean War. He served in the military with the United States Army for 21 years being inducted on September 19, 1945 and retiring on December 31, 1966. While in the Korean War, he earned a Purple Heart. Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Coffey and is survived by his 3 sons, Frankie Hodges and Carolyn, Randy Hodges, and Phillip Hodges; daughter, Diane Hodges; sisters, Mickey Davis, Dorothy Vaught, Betty Faye Martin, and Melba Schuster; brother, Billy Hodges; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends are cordially invited to the visitation Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, the 22nd of March at Cahaba Heights Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel (879-3401) in Homewood.
