Giles was the son of Samuel Samford and Elizabeth Keene Samford of North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia. He was the grandson of William Keene (1642-1684) and Elizabeth Rogers Keene Banks ( d. 1720) of St. Stephens Parish, Northumberland County, Virginia. Giles died 15 Feb. 1727 at North Farnham Parish.
