Giles was the son of Samuel Samford and Elizabeth Keene Samford of North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia. He was the grandson of William Keene (1642-1684) and Elizabeth Rogers Keene Banks ( d. 1720) of St. Stephens Parish, Northumberland County, Virginia. Giles died 15 Feb. 1727 at North Farnham Parish. His will follows.

When Giles died in 1727, his mother Elizabeth Keene Samford was deceased , having died prior to 1707, as his father Samuel Samford remarried in 1707 to his second wife Isabella Langhee, widow of Patrick Langhee.
Giles was unmarried.
Note: In his will, Giles only mentions 3 siblings: Sister Elizabeth Samford, brothers John and Samuel Samford.
