Memorial contributions to the youth programs at the 1st Methodist Church, 332 East 2nd, Casper, WY 82601 or the Boy Scout Troop #167, 3939 Casper Mountain Road, Casper, WY 82601. He died of a heart attach, May 25, 2005 in Casper, Wyoming. Jim was born March 23, 1956, in Midland, Texas, son of Robert K. and Jane (Gall) Crouch. As a professional boy scouter for the Boy Scouts of America, and a scouter for life, he brought his family to Casper, Wyoming. The last 3.5 years, he has been the Natrona County field representative for the Department of Revenue, taxation division, a job he loved because he became personally involved with interesting people. Jim had an exceptionally big heart, remembering every holiday, and special events, especially mother's days, anniversaries, graduations, birthdays, and Christmas when he would dress up in his finest Santa Claus suit to distribute candy canes to the young at heart. Without exception, his performances had loving style, which gave him great joy. He was the family historian, had a gift of gab and made sure his children were educated well as rising citizens in a challenging world. He felt it necessary just this last March following his 49th birthday, to seize the opportunity to show his children how proud they should be to understand what sacrifices soldiers make to gain our freedom, only Americans can appreciate. He took them all to Europe, to walk on the grounds their grandfathers fought on during WW II. It was a memorable occasion, not to be forgotten. Quoting his thoughts, he could not leave without saying, "Farewell friends and foes, remember what a difference you can make in life, if you only try." Survivors include his loving wife, Helene Madeleine Conarty Crouch, their three children, Trey Douglass. Megan Greer and Russell K Crouch; Jim's in-laws, Roger and Anna May Conarty, who shared many occasions together and live nearby in Casper; his only remaining brother, John Neil Crouch and wife, Chris and their children, Robert and Sandie Crouch; and numerous cousins from Oregon, California, Minnesota and Lathrop, Missouri, their ancestral home, Jim is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donald Kay Crouch, and step-father, Russell Edward Henley.
