Beth Hicks, 56, of Hutto died Thursday, March 24, 2008, at her residence.
Funeral: was Saturday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Dr. Kent D. Marrs officiating. Interment: St. John's Cemetery.
Beth was born Sept. 26, 1951, to Brad Bryan and Janelle McCollom in Fort Worth. She received her B.S. from East Texas State University. Beth married Michael John Hicks in 1983 and the couple settled in the Hutto/Georgetown area 19 years ago. Beth worked as a teacher in the Bartlett ISD, but her life's passion was music. She was known about the Austin and Georgetown music venues as a performer and writer. Beth loved to bring her gift of music to as many as she could. She performed with several local artists and for her church, St. John's United Methodist Church.
Beth was preceded in death by her brother, Shawn Bryan.
Survivors: She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Michael of Hutto; sons, Max Skyler and wife, Amber, of Hutto and Zane Cody of Lubbock; daughter, Shawn DeLaney Hicks of Hutto; mother, Janelle Nowell of Fort Worth; father, Brad Bryan of Graham; sister, Christie Young of Granbury; mother-in-law, Jan Martel of Marble Falls; granddaughter, Brooklyn Renee Hicks of Hutto; niece, Yvonne Halcomb of Highland Village; and nephew, Dylan Bryan of Fort Hood.
