Thomas William Christie

Tom W. Christie, 81, of 1110 Plum Street, was a pioneer independent oil operator. He was born at Parkersburg, West Virginia and was raised in West Virginia. Mr. Christie moved to Texas settling in Eastland and Ranger during the oil boom of the early 1920s. He moved to Graham in 1920. Mr. Christie was known to many oil men in Northwest and Central Texas and had been an independent oil operator and producer in Young County for nearly 40 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survived by his wife - Mrs. Margaret Christie; three brothers - C.B. Christie, F.J. Christie, George Christie; two sisters - Miss Ida Christie and Mrs. Harry Milner; several nephews including Charles Christopher who lives in Graham.
