Individual Details
Rebecca E. Wilson
(12 Feb 1817 - 13 Nov 1894)
The first Elizabeth married two men named Wilson. She and her first husband may be the parents of a Lydia Wilson born 2 Apr 1800, who married David Hobbs on 3 May 1818 in Yelvertoft. Our fourth great grandfather, William Wilson, was her second husband, the father of her other children, and would be the stepfather of Lydia Wilson.
The second Elizabeth, who is buried in Avon, Ohio, is probably the stepmother of William's 6 children. She and William are possibly the parents of Rebecca E. Wilson, who was born 12 Feb 1817 in England and died 13 Nov 1894 in Cleveland, Ohio.
The connection of Rebecca E. Wilson to these parents and to her spouse needs further proof. The evidence so far is only circumstantial. Moreover, since we do not know the date of death of the first Elizabeth or the date of marriage of the second Elizabeth, it is impossible to know for certain which one could be Rebecca’s mother. Rebecca E. Wilson married William Collister on 8 July 1839 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. He was from the Isle of Man.
One reason why Rebecca E. Wilson is interesting is because one of her daughters, Martha J. Collister, married a man named William Henry Robinson, whose mother was Eliza Hobbs. Eliza was christened 3 Jun 1826 in Yelvertoft. Her parents were named David and Lydia Hobbs. Could this be the same David Hobbs that married Lydia Wilson on 3 May 1818 in Yelvertoft?
