Margaret Greer Wilkinson, 77, was born in Goldthwaite, Texas. She grew up in Brownwood, attended Howard Payne University and the University of Texas in Austin. She married James W. Wilkinson from Sanderson in Brownwood on September 4, 1948. They lived in San Angelo, San Antonio, Houston, and Durango, Colorado before returning to Brownwood. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Houston in October 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents, L. P. and Kitty Greer, her husband, Jim, and her brother, Bob. She is survived by her mother-in-law, Ima C. Wilkinson; her son, Scott Wilkinson, his wife Lyn and their children; daughter, Sarah Dietzmann, her husband Jim, and their children. She had many close friends and family who she dearly loved. Margaret was an inspiration to all for her determination and courage.
A memorial service was held at the First United Methodist Church in Brownwood on Friday, February 22, 2002, and committal services were held in Houston on Saturday, February 23, 2002, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
