David Fiske

David Fiske came over from England on board the Arabella with his parents in the year 1637 at the age of 13. He married Miss Lydia Cooper in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the year 1646.
David Fisk, son of David, b. England 1624; m. (1) 1646 Lydia Cooper who d. Nov. 29, 1654; (2) Sept. 6, 1655 Seaborn Wilson of Ipswich. "David Fiske," says Hudson in his History of Lexington, "was not only one of the first settlers, but became one of the most prominent and useful men in the precinct. He headed the subscription for a meeting house in 1692, and on the organization of the parish the year after, he was chosen clerk, and one of the selectmen or assessors. He was also chosen chairman of a committee to purchase of the town of Cambridge a lot of land for the support of the ministry. These and other similar office he frequently held under the Parish. He was also a member of the church organized in 1696, and his wife immediately after removed her relation fronm the church in Cambridge to the church gathered in the precinct. He not only served his fellow-citizens in a civil and religious, but also in a miltary capacity, as appears by the prefix Lieut., which is often in the records connected with his name. He was often employed by the colony as a surveyor. He resided on Hancock St."
Per Fiske Genealogy, page 58. Lieut. David Fiske, Esq. was married Lydia Cooper in 1646, she died in 1654, they had 3 children, with a son David Fiske being born 1650. He then married Seaborn Wilson in 1655.
